On Sunday 12th August 2007, the 10 kilometer road race run “Bali 10K” held in commemoration of the 49th anniversary of Bali Province, and the commemoration of the 62nd Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia had been well completed in full success.
This event is now included on the annual agenda for Bali Provincial Government, and for this in favour of the organizing committee as well as all related parties for this Bali 10K event, we herewith express our gratitude and thanks. For this year’s event the 10 kilometres road race will carry its theme “International Bali10K for Unity”. The international scaled-event has become a gathering time for athletes as well as all sports fans coming from all parts of Indonesia and the world. Aside from its main purpose as to make Bali a sport-destination of tourism, this event is one of Bali Provincial Government program to bring forward the success for the national program “Visit Indonesia Year 2008”. Through this very valuable opportunity we invite all parties to provide their contributions towards the success of “International Bali10K” and our program “Visit Indonesia Year 2008”.
Thank you.
Om Shanti Shanti Shanti Om.
Dewa Beratha
Governor of Bali
The 50th anniversary of Bali Province and the 63rd Independence Day celebration of this year, has been marked with the road race run by and around the area of Monumen Perjuangan Rakyat Bali (“Monument of Bali People’s Battle”), in Niti Mandala Renon, Denpasar: with “International Bali 10K for Unity”. Being included in Bali Provincial Governmental annual agenda, this event is held this year for its second time, and will be simultaneously held in the following years to come.
Compared to its prior event last year in 2007, where we have been able to make the presence of world-class athletes from Kenya, Ghana, Philippines, Singapore, France, Australia and Vietnam, for this year in 2008 we expect the participation of more international athletes from more countries of the world. We openly invite all parties to make this event a success, and to their continuous support for International Bali 10K.
Gede Nurjaya Head, Bali Tourism Office Chairman
Thank you for having given us the opportunity again to be the organizers for the 10 kilometer road race of this year. For our second event in a row, we are eagerly awaiting your participation whichever form and format it may take: whether you run in the race, whether you join the crowd for the festive event, or whether you remain a person who monitors from a distance and provide your valuable inputs with utmost willingness and readiness.
As it is basically, the road race run Bali 10K which is now included in Bali Provincial Government annual agenda, would only have its happening completely with the full participation of Bali people and society, as well as the international society residing or chose to be in Bali for the event. This 10 kilometer road race run for 2008 shall not be of much difference technically from the previous year’s event. Improvements we are ready to present for this year, however, are: route, media coverage, time record, and one of the most important: a sterile area for Start & Finish – so as to ease all athletes and runners on their route accessibility. The last we would like to say here, we eagerly await all of you to participate in our International Bali10K for Unity, in Denpasar, Bali, on Sunday, 12th August 2008. Salute to Sports!
